Our Experience

CCUS Experts is led by Jonathan A. Carley, a veteran of the industry.  Jonathan’s involvement in the CCUS industry spans more than 15 years, including 11 years at CO2 Solutions Inc. (now CO2 Solutions by SAIPEM). At CO2 Solutions he was instrumental in scaling its novel enzyme-based technology from the lab to commercial deployment and was a co-author of several of the company's core patents.  This technology is now one of the world's top three commercially available carbon capture processes.  In this role he also developed an extensive knowledge of the breadth of other carbon capture, utilization and sequestration technologies and approaches being developed and available in the marketplace, as well as built a deep network of industry, government and NGO relationships.

Mr. Carley is also currently an Executive in Residence at Foresight Canada, Canada's leading accelerator for CCUS and carbon dioxide removal (CDR) technology innovators.  At Foresight Canada he mentors the partnership’s cohort of CCUS and CDR companies on how to successfully scale their technologies and organizations, as well as advises FC on the selection of new cohort candidates with technical and commercial due diligence.

Jonathan is a Member of the Editorial Board of Frontiers in Energy Research’s journal of Carbon Capture, Storage, and Utilization and previously was an Expert Member of the technical committee for the development of ISO standards for carbon capture.

 

His combination of hands-on CCUS commercialization and scale-up expertise, combined with this broad-based experience in business development, partnership formation, government and private financing, intellectual property, and external relations provides CCUS Experts’ clients with strong and discernable value in this continually evolving industry.
